Overview
ISSPR, 4-9 September, 2011
The 7th International Summer School on Pattern Recognition will cover the following topics:
statistical pattern recognition and multivariate statistics
neural networks and reinforcement learning
evolutionary computation and optimization
classification, and data mining
machine learning systems for real applications
The summer school speakers are one of the leading international practitioners of pattern recognition technology, with exceptional track record of publishing, book writing and research work. The summer school will kick off on Sunday the 4th of September, 2011 with a poster presentation by all participants about their research and commercial exhibits by leading research organisations. The work will be judged by a panel of judges for 4 prizes (3 sponsored by Microsoft, and 1 by Springer). Each prize winner will receive a free autographed copy of Prof. Chris Bishop's Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning book. From Monday the 5th of September to Friday 9th of September, a series of lectures in the form of tutorials will be conducted by school speakers.
The summer school is fully residential. Once registered, all one has to do is arrive at Plymouth and the organisers take care of everything. The summer school provides an excellent opportunity for enhancing your skills in pattern recognition tools, networking with researchers from all over the world attending this event, and making links with speakers in a relaxed environment.
